This is for all of you out there reading their email at 5pm on Friday: Just wanted to offer a little encouragement. Another work week has come to an end--- we made some blunders (am I the only one?), completed some projects, helped our bosses, and furthered the Kingdom. However you feel today (joyful, frustrated, fulfilled, overwhelmed, or energized) is totally normal. We are learning and growing. God is doing a great work in us and will continue to do incredible things through us as long as we're allowing ourselves to be available and faithful.
Unfortunately, I must admit that as an assistant we never "arrive". Just when you feel like you are on top of your game, the Lord will humble you and remind you that it's only by His grace that you accomplish anything. As assistants, we are responsible to hold up the arms of our leaders, not that we're perfect, but that we stay pure and holy, doing what we can to strengthen our bosses, bless our organizations, and serve others. Continue to stand on the promises of God's Word, and get ready for a new week just around the corner!
Zechariah 4:6 NIV-So he said to me, "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by me Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty.
Colossians 1:16 NIV- For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV- But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
Philippians 4:13 NLT- For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Lamentations 3:22-23NLT- The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
